Stephen Lee

Mr. Lee is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Renewa, where he leads the company’s strategic vision and growth alongside Mr. Mooring. With a deep background in corporate finance and energy investments, Mr. Lee has played a pivotal role in positioning Renewa as a leading land and infrastructure investor in the renewable energy sector. Under their leadership, Renewa significantly expanded its portfolio in 2024, adding 33 new clean energy projects and partnering with industry leaders such as AES, Capital Dynamics, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The company also entered six new states, establishing a presence in every major U.S. power market.

Before founding Renewa, Mr. Lee and Mr. Mooring co-launched Paloma Solar & Wind, which was backed by EnCap Investments and served as a foundation for their work in renewable energy investment. Prior to that, Mr. Lee co-founded KLR Group, an energy-focused merchant bank, where he was a Partner and Managing Member. Mr. Lee also served as President of KLR Investments, where he co-founded Seawolf Resources, a leading water management company in West Texas, alongside Mr. Mooring. Earlier in his career, he served as Co-Head of Energy Investment Banking at Rodman & Renshaw, leading the firm’s energy sector initiatives and client relationships.

With two decades of expertise in corporate finance and the energy industry, Mr. Lee is committed to driving innovative financial solutions that accelerate the clean energy transition. He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from New York University and resides in Houston, Texas.
